The SwiftVecto Image Metadata Editor provides controlled editing of commonly used image metadata. Instead of exposing hundreds of obscure technical EXIF tags, the tool focuses on fields that people are most likely to understand and intentionally modify. The original image is preserved, while a separate edited copy is generated for download. Frequently Asked Questions

Which image formats can I edit?

The first version of the Image Metadata Editor supports JPEG, JFIF and TIFF images. Metadata writing behaviour differs between formats, so support is deliberately limited to formats that can be verified reliably.

Why can the metadata viewer open more formats than the editor?

Reading metadata is generally safer than rewriting it. The viewer can inspect additional formats, while the editor initially supports only formats where metadata writing can be verified reliably.

Does the editor modify the original image?

No. SwiftVecto creates a separate edited image for download while your original uploaded file remains unchanged.

Will the image dimensions change?

No intentional resize or crop is performed.

Will the image be compressed?

The editor does not intentionally apply image optimisation or compression settings. The image is rewritten only as necessary to save the metadata changes.

Can I remove GPS location?

Yes. The Remove GPS option clears supported GPS metadata before the edited image is generated.

Can I change GPS location?

Yes. You can enter decimal latitude, longitude and optionally altitude values.

Can metadata be trusted as proof of authenticity?

No. Metadata can be edited, removed or falsified and should not automatically be treated as proof of authorship, date, location or authenticity.

Does the editor preserve colour profiles?

The writer does not intentionally remove embedded colour profiles. Metadata editing is separate from metadata stripping.

What is the maximum upload size?

The current upload limit is 20 MB per image.
